Guest Speaker: Augustine Farinola on Moral Chains and Animal Agents

Augustine Farinola of the University of Alberta will be joining our next lab meeting to present a talk titled Moral Chains and Animal Agents: A Database-Driven Study of Folktales. The session runs on Wednesday, 15 October at 3:30 p.m. in University Hall, and is also streamed on Zoom.

About the speaker

Augustine currently holds a Graduate Research Assistant Fellowship in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and a Graduate Research Assistantship in Media Technology Studies, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. His research lies at the intersection of AI ethics, digital humanities, philosophy of information technology, experimental philosophy, and visual epistemology.

Taken collectively, his work examines how computational tools mediate perception, embodiment, and meaning through a digital humanist lens.
